The St. Martin’s Festival in Izola is one of the town’s most beloved autumn traditions – a true celebration of wine, good food, and Istrian hospitality! Every year in early November, Lonka Square transforms into a lively gathering place for wine lovers, food enthusiasts, and families.
Amidst wonderful aromas, music, and laughter, we toast to the new wine with the traditional blessing of St. Martin, taste the finest local wines, and enjoy delicious seasonal dishes.
Throughout the day, a vibrant music program will entertain visitors, while children can take part in creative workshops and fun activities.
It’s the perfect day to enjoy good wine, good company, and the joyful spirit!

MUSIC PROGRAM
• 11:00 – Cultural Association of Accordionists Izola
• 11:30 – Istrski fantje
• 13:30 – Stevo Vujič Band
• 16:00 – Kvintet Molet
• 17:30 – Choir of the Italian Community of Opatija and Vocal Group “Silbio” of the Italian Community of Savudrija

CHILDREN’S PROGRAM
From 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the talented Vanja will paint children’s faces with colorful and creative motifs. During the event, kids can also join creative workshops featuring autumn-themed crafts — fun for the whole family!

ISTRIAN MARKET
Open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, the market will feature a wide variety of:
• young local wines and wines from other Slovenian regions,
• honey, homemade spirits, and local delicacies,
• handcrafted wooden and lavender products.
Culinary delights will be prepared by Hiša Dual Restaurant from Izola, while the air will be filled with the aroma of traditional fritters from the Šparžin Association and sweet chestnut desserts from Caffetteria Zvon.
You’ll even have the chance to meet St. Martin himself – take a photo, have a chat, and raise a glass together to the new wine!

SPORT AND FUN
As always, Izola combines culture and sport.
During the St. Martin’s weekend, two exciting events will also take place:
• the St. Martin’s Regatta for OPTIMIST, ILCA 4, ILCA 6, and ILCA 7 classes, organized by JK Burja Sailing Club – counting as the National Championship for ILCA 6

• the Obala Ultra Trail, the “run with the most beautiful view,” organized by the Obala Trail Association obalaultratrail.si
Both events will take place from November 7 to 9, 2025.
