FOUR DAYS CARNIVAL CELEBRATIONS IN IZOLA!

Crazy carnival fun in Izola – a celebration you simply cannot miss!

From March 1^st to March 4^th, 2025, Izola will transform into a vibrant carnival atmosphere. Expect unforgettable festivities for all generations, full of fun, music, creative costumes and amazing prizes.

The carnival celebration will start on Saturday at 11am, when masqueraders will officially take over the key of the town. This will be followed by a fun program for children, and the highlight of the day, a live concert by a band – Magazzino Commericiale. They will guarantee an unforgettable party atmosphere.

Sunday will be dedicated to families. The youngest visitors will enjoy a mini disco, while everyone can enjoy a diverse musical program, including a live concert by Belle de Jour.  The peak of the day will be the Best Family Costume Contest, with fantastic prizes for the most creative masks! The registrations are already open online via the Center’s website, or you can register directly at the event.

The prizes for the Best Family Costume Contest, sponsored by Belvedere Hotels Izola, include:

VIP Sauna Suit for 2 people – Mediterranean Gold Package, Wellness pampering for 2 people, Three-course dinner with wine pairing. Additionally, our sponsor Hotel Delfin is giving away 2 vouchers for pizzas at Restaurant and Pizzeria Pergola and 2 days pool tickets for adults at Hotel Delfin, Pizzeria Napa is giving pizza vouchers, and TIC Izola is offering family tickets for museum Izolana – House of the Sea, Bepi mascot.

On the weekend, Lonka will be filled with delicious doughnuts (krof), Angel wings (hroštola), pancakes and other delicious traditional carnival treats. There will be also a variety of savory dishes, like burgers, traditional Slovenian štruklji, chicken fingers and crispy fries. Visitors can also enjoy a selection of white and red wine, non-alcohol beverages, and warm teas.

On Monday, march 3^rd, the traditional Slovenian carnival masks – Kurenti, will visit local kindergartens and schools, ringing their bells to chase away winter and bring an authentic traditional atmosphere to Izola. The carnival festivities will continue on Tuesday, march 4^th, starting at 10AM, with a special children’s carnival party at Lonka, full of music, dancing, and laughter, specially prepared for kindergarten and school children.

The four-day carnival in Izola will be a true carnival treat. Visitors can enjoy a fantastic festive atmosphere, great music, and a wide range of delicious culinary delights.
