CHOIR DESCRIPTION
The Women’s Choir Mirta was founded on December 3rd, 2018. Despite its short history, it has already established itself among the residents of Slovenian Istrian municipalities and visitors as a mature and trustworthy ambassador of music and beautiful singing. The choir includes singers from all four municipalities of Slovenian Istria, from Ankaran to Piran. They are united by music and friendship. So far, the choir has achieved many successes, held several independent concerts and performed both at home and abroad. It regularly participates in the “Primorska poje” festival, the International Music Day in Piran, the “Fête de la musique,” and in various municipal and regional choir reviews. It also occasionally collaborates with friendly choirs from Piran, Izola, Koper, and the Slovenian minority abroad. They often travel abroad as well. The choir constantly strives for progress and engagement on all levels of cultural activity.
