Hitchhiking from Škofja Loka to the other side of the Atlantic

I had only one goal, no detailed plans, and time was not my master – all conditions for the adventure have been fulfilled. The dream of sailing across Atlantic, which had been burning inside me for years, started on foot, followed by hitchhiking all the way to Andalusia in Spain. On the Canary Islands, I found a captain and a cat, who were ready to cross the ocean on an almost 50 years old sailboat. Together with two other hitchhikers, after a stop at the Cape Verde Islands and 28 days at sea, almost out of food but with enough collected rainwater, we finally reached the other continent, and my one and only goal was achieved. But in reality, that’s when the journey truly began.
