The Tomi Purich Balkan Jazz Group performs a distinctive blend of ethnic music and jazz, merging elements from the Orient, the Balkans, and Istria with original jazz improvisation and unconventional rhythms. Their repertoire includes original compositions, traditional folk melodies, and arrangements of popular songs.

With the release of their third album, titled PiranOhrid, the ensemble further deepens its exploration of musical boundaries. On a conceptual level, the album combines the temperament and warmth of the East with the structure and order of the West. The sounds of the Balkans and Istria merge with jazz form and rhythmic freedom into a unique fusion of ethno-jazz—what the artists themselves call Balkan jazz.
