CARNIVAL IN IZOLA ON SATURDAY IS CANCELLED – SEE YOU ON FRIDAY AND SUNDAY

We would like to inform you that due to the poor weather forecast, the Carnival in Izola scheduled for Saturday, 14 February 2026, is CANCELLED.

The rest of the programme will take place as scheduled:

Friday, 13 February 2026

Carnival festivities at Lonka will begin on Friday, 13 February 2026 at 9:30 AM, with a morning carnival celebration for children from Izola’s kindergartens and schools. The town will be filled with a colourful parade of children in carnival costumes. The celebration will be further enlivened by the traditional Kurenti, whose distinctive bells and energy will create an authentic carnival atmosphere and help chase away the winter.

A FAMILY COSTUME COMPETITION will take place, where we will award 3 best family costumes with attractive prizes! So be brave – more imagination, more fun!

Carnival festivities will conclude on Shrove Tuesday, 17 February 2026, at 11:00 AM with a children’s carnival party at the square in front of the Izola Cultural Centre. The event is organised as part of the Creative Festival: Sports and Cultural Holidays, offering children a variety of sports and cultural activities and quality leisure time during the winter school holidays.
