The Land of Heroes is no longer just a charity campaign. It is no longer just a man on a bicycle traveling across Slovenia, and it is no longer just a Radio 1 project. Over the years, it has grown into something much bigger — a movement, a community, a time of year when Slovenia, for a few days, becomes a place where people once again feel that we know how to come together.

This is a story about people!

At the beginning, the focus was on an individual — Miha Deželak, who set off on a journey with the idea of helping children get a holiday. But over the years, something much greater became clear: true heroes were never just in the spotlight. They were always the ones “standing by the road,” following the campaign and responding to calls for help. These are the people who help, show up, donate, cheer, or simply listen and share the story — people who do something good every day and consider it completely normal.

This is a celebration of kindness, a festival of people, and the most beautiful version of Slovenia. What we have created is no longer just a Radio 1 campaign — it has long become a campaign of people united for a good cause, forming one of the most unique charitable movements far and wide. We can proudly say what we are capable of when we stand together.

If Deželak was the hero = Cene for me!

This year, Miha Deželak is symbolically passing the baton to Cene Prevc, who is dynamic, fun, always ready for action, and at the same time humble, sincere, and genuinely human. Together with his dedicated team, Cene will do everything possible to ensure that as many socially disadvantaged children as possible will see the sea this year — many for the very first time.

Now is once again the time to stand together. To show how many big-hearted people live in our Land of Heroes. To make 2026 even stronger, brighter, and full of unforgettable moments.

The Land of Heroes will also visit Izola. On Friday, June 5, 2026, at approximately 12:45 at Lonka Square in Izola.
