Dear music lovers,

The Wind Orchestra of the City of Trieste “G. Verdi” (Civica Orchestra di fiati “G. Verdi” – City of Trieste), as part of the “Sinfonia d’ensemble 2026” season, proudly presents an international musical event: a concert by the World Percussion Group (WPG).

The event will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 6:30 PM at the Art Cinema Odeon in Izola.

World Percussion Group (WPG)

Founded in 2016 under the leadership of percussionist and professor Tim Palmer, WPG is a pioneering ensemble that brings together outstanding young talents from more than 45 countries. After performances in the USA, Scandinavia, and Central Europe, the group is coming to Izola, where it will present a contemporary performance combining energy, cultural diversity, and technical virtuosity.

About the event

The concert represents the highlight of a day dedicated to high-level education. Talented WPG percussionists will take the stage in a dynamic and engaging program. Special guests at the evening concert will include musicians who participated in a professional training program led by Maestro Gabriele Petracca (percussionist at the Teatro Lirico G. Verdi opera house in Trieste) and the international WPG team.

The event is organized in cooperation with the Art Cinema Odeon, the Self-Governing Community of the Italian Nationality Koper, and the Italian Community of Hrvatini.
