Berto the Tomcat just can’t focus anymore — all he can think about is that house with the big door. And the window that looks out onto the square… and the little tail that twitches and tickles his whiskers. His hearing isn’t what it used to be — more or less, he only hears her. Meow.

Yesterday, she told him he had to do something, that he couldn’t just spend the whole day sitting under her window.

Now Berto is wondering what to do. Should he try gardening, sewing, writing poetry — or just go back to chasing mice?

Who knows how this story will end? Will it be a tale of joy, or one full of tears?

This children’s theatre performance about the lovestruck Berto unfolds mostly in rhyme. Kids are actively involved throughout the show, helping Berto navigate the ups and downs of love and emotion. Along the way, they transform into gardeners, tailors, and poets — and most of all, they laugh out loud at Berto’s clumsy (and oh-so-relatable) misadventures.
