Kubrick described the film as \u201ca story of the dubious redemption of an adolescent delinquent by condition-reflex therapy\u201d and, at the same time, \u201ca running lecture on free will.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Trailer:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=T54uZPI4Z8A\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=T54uZPI4Z8A<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>An Adaptation Worthy of the Original<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Burgess\u2019s cult novel was brought to the big screen in 1971, causing enormous public controversy with its scenes of extreme violence. In the United Kingdom, where Stanley Kubrick lived and worked, the film was withdrawn from distribution at the director\u2019s request after threats were reportedly made against him and his family because of <em>A Clockwork Orange<\/em>. Kubrick strictly controlled the ban on screenings until his death in the late 1990s.
