Caf\u00e9 Noisette consists of vocalist Kaya Tokuhisa, pianist Rok Lopati\u010d, and accordionist \u017diga Vehovec. Although all three come from different musical backgrounds, they are united by their love of performing chansons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kaya and Rok met at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT), where they studied French chanson under Professor \u017dare Prin\u010di\u010d\u2014Kaya as a student and Rok as an in-house accompanist. Kaya\u2019s singing is marked by expressive interpretation, which she further refined during her master\u2019s studies in theatrical singing. The idea of concert evenings dedicated to chanson gradually developed, and to enrich the sound, they invited accordionist \u017diga Vehovec to join the project. Caf\u00e9 Noisette thus took on its complete form and held its debut concert in 2018 as part of the Poleti v NUK festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The members are connected by their shared love of chanson, which they perform in French, Slovenian, and Italian, occasionally also venturing into other musical worlds. Their repertoire includes well-known songs by iconic artists such as \u00c9dith Piaf, Juliette Gr\u00e9co, Fabrizio de Andr\u00e9, and Frane Mil\u010dinski-Je\u017eek. In addition, they perform a wide selection of original compositions by Barbara Kobal. The lyrics explore a variety of themes, all united by a strong atmospheric quality that paints contrasting emotional landscapes\u2014from the melancholy of a twilight autumn evening to the brightness of a rain-washed summer sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
