My name is Aleksej Iva\u010di\u010d Kolar, also known as PolarAce, and my musical journey began in a rather unusual way. I have sung and whistled all my life, and I even attended music school to learn the violin. I didn\u2019t like music school, but I trusted my parents\u2019 decisions, so I persisted with the violin. You could say my musical life began when I was six years old, or even earlier, but back then I wasn\u2019t as passionate about music as I am today. I developed my love for music much later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
About three and a half years ago, when I was 14, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It was a moment that could have changed my life for the worse. But around the same time, I met my current best friend: my dog Polaris. He showed me that life is worth living every day, even with illness, and inspired me to write my first song. From that point on, I truly dedicated myself to music and began to see it as a way of connecting the world. I always struggled with choosing the right path (sports, physics, animals), but I finally found my passion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I wrote songs for a while, and at 15 I decided to apply to the Tour Music Fest competition with my song Home<\/em>. I successfully passed the online and live auditions and made it to the finals. There I realized that a long journey still lay ahead if I wanted to achieve my dreams, so I decided to start taking singing lessons. Of course, they can be quite expensive, so I also began street performing to pay for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At 16, I participated in Slovenia\u2019s Got Talent<\/em> with my dog Polaris, where I gained a lot of insight into the challenges of the entertainment industry. With this experience, I reached the finals of EMA (the Slovenian national selection for Eurovision) with my song Kind<\/em>, which contains almost all of my life experiences. After EMA, I was given a hosting role in a new children\u2019s show \u0160nofki<\/em> on RTV Slovenia, where I truly shine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I still enjoy writing songs and try to present them to the world in the best possible way. I am working on my singing and stage performance so that as many people as possible can enjoy my performances.
